The Trials Format
The trials will feature two types of events: time trials and finals.

In finals, the top 16 qualifiers in each event will swim head-to-head in a seeded championship heat, with the winner earning an Olympic berth. The remaining finalists will swim in consolation and bonus heats, with their times used to determine tiebreakers and wild card selections for the Olympics.
